The Laurels Retreat is a friendly, family run self-catering accommodation in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside. Close to the world heritage site of Avebury and the famous Ridgeway not to mention only a short train away from the picturesque city of Bath. With the added benefit of an onsite Beauty & Holisitc therapist. Broad Hinton is the quintessential English village.

The property is open plan and wheelchair accessible. It has its own entrance with a walk in Jacuzzi bath (perfect for those with poor mobility). The accommodation can sleep 2 adults with an additional pull out sofa bed for up to 2 children or one adult. The kitchenette area has a fridge, kettle, toaster, air fryer and a 2 ring counter hob.

The Laurels Retreat is a newly converted Annex situated in the charming village of Broad Hinton opposite a country pub. There are a wide range of activities very close by: The world Heritage site of Avebury Stone Circle is 3 miles away. The Hackpen White Horse is a 5 min drive and we are very close to Royal Wootton Bassett, Wroughton and the McArthur Glen designer Outlet. The beautiful city of Bath is only a 20 minute train journey away. The market town of Marlborough is a 15 minute drive and is the perfect spot for a traditional cream tea. The new Hawking Building, housing the Science Museum collection is a 5 minute drive away.
The Laurels Retreat is the ideal location for a peaceful break in the countryside with the added benefit of an onsite Beauty and Holisitc therapist. The Hideaway beauty cabin is within the property and offers a 10% discount to those staying at The Laurels Retreat.

Local Attractions

Avebury is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England. The village is about 5 miles west of Marlborough and 8 miles northeast of Devizes. Much of the village is encircled by the prehistoric monument complex known as Avebury

The Ridgeway National Trail passes through a surprisingly remote part of southern central England. From its start in the World Heritage Site of Avebury, it follows a ridge of chalk hills in a northeasterly direction for 87 miles to reach Ivinghoe Beacon lying to the northwest of London. Popularly known as "Britains oldest road". The Ridgeway still follows the same route over the high ground used since prehistoric times by travelers, handsmen and soliders. Today it is popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, horse riders and disabled people using mobility scooters

East Kennet Long Barrow is one of the largest, most impressive and accessible Neolitithical chambered tombs in Britain. Built in around 3650 BC. It was used for a short time as a burial chamber, nearly 50 people being buried here before the chambers were blocked. Part of Avebury World Heritage Site. West Kennet Long Barrow is in a private ownership and in English Heritage guardinship. It is managed by The National Trust on behalf of English Heritage, and the two orgainsations shares the cost of managing and maintinaing the propety.

The accommodation has its own entrance via a wheelchair accessible ramp. You will also have use of parts of the garden with your own outdoor seating.
